What we're all about Global
Aviation Resource (GAR), a new online aviation news site, launched on 18th
May 2009.
Since then GAR has remained true to its launch commitment of bringing visitors to the site the very best news, reviews, features and comment from those at the sharp end of aviation - every week.
We have covered, and will continue to cover, every facet of the genre from modern military and historic aviation, through to airshows and industry news. In just six months we published features on a huge range of subjects which included exclusive interviews and photos with the RAF solo display crews, in-depth reports on the Merlin Force ahead of their deployment to Afghanistan and air to air images of the Swift Aerobatic Team as they travelled to London City Airport's Fun Day. We've been behind the scenes with airlines, been granted unique access to airshow organisers and covered airlines and museums from as far afield as the United States and South Africa.
GAR remains committed to launching a brand new comprehensive database of aviation photography from its team of 'Associate Photographers'. The database, which will be fully searchable, will see a significant proportion of the images contained within available for purchase as prints, gifts or for commercial usage. We are working hard on the database right now and hope to launch within the next few months.
In November we launched blogGAR - a brand new area of Global Aviation Resource which allows our writers and photographers to make content available which doesn't fit in to our normal feature schedule. It could be the images from a day's photography, the background story to a feature or just a comment or discussion piece on something newsworthy. blogGAR could be updated at anytime so keep your eyes on our Twitter (@gaviationr) and Facebook updates or just keep dropping by to see what's new.

Who we are
GAR was conceived by highly respected photo-journalist Karl Drage and brings together a team of aviation photographers and writers which sees Karl taking his aviation work to a new level. The GAR team is well-connected across the aviation world and will aim to produce features and reports of the highest quality and, equally importantly, on a regular and timely basis.
"Aviation is a fast-moving world and I wanted to create a site that can keep up with the industry but not compromise on quality when it comes to reporting news or publishing features", says Karl.
