About: Thomas Pitts - Global Aviation Resource

Thomas Pitts - Staff Photographer & Writer Thomas is 22 years old and has recently graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a First Class Honours in Aerospace Technology. Thomas' interest in aviation stems from a childhood visit to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, where many of the exhibits, particularly the B-52 in the American Air Museum, left a lasting impression.

With four years of university, including one year in industry, under his belt, Thomas is now employed as a Certification Engineer in the Aircraft Cabin Interiors sector and has plans to go back to university to complete a Masters Degree in Airworthiness.
Thomas gained his National Private Pilots License in June 2010 and has flown several types including the Tiger Moth, Harvard, Cessna 152 and Pa-28 Warrior II and Archer II. Thomas intends to undertake a tailwheel conversion course on the Pa-18 Super Cub in the near future.

It was at Duxford in September 2000 that Thomas attended his first airshow and since then has gone on to attend numerous airshows around the country over the years with the smaller venues like Old Warden, Sywell & Little Gransden becoming firm favourites.
Thomas first started taking photographs at airshows using a digital bridge camera in 2005 but has since upgraded through entry level D-SLRs to his current combination of Canon 50D with 17-85 and 70-300 lenses.
