About Global Aviation Resource

Paul Filmer - Editor (Stateside) & Database Administrator Growing up a stone's throw from Heathrow Airport amongst the fumes and smoke of the avgas-guzzling monsters was where aviation got into Paul's system, first donning a camera to point at an aircraft in 1977.
He has worked for the very large (British Airways) and the very small (Channel Express) along the way.
A ten year break from aviation concentrating on live band photography saw Paul also gain his UK PPL and and FAA CPL along with an Ag rating which culminated in a move to Colorado in 2002.

The move to digital saw Paul's interest in aviation get kick-started and he currently travels all over the USA and Europe looking for interesting photo opportunities.
He's now been back on the scene for a number of years and freelancing under the moniker of skippyscage photography. He loves to capture all aspects of aviation keeping a special place for old propliners and all things round. (Stephen Piercey RIP).

He tends to steer clear of the obvious crowded airshows and the like and instead concentrates on embedding himself with a company or military unit to get a more personal and unstaged view.
Paul is currently linked to numerous media outlets including Admin, Moderator and Editor duties at Fence Check and is also one of Combat Aircraft Magazine's Special Correspondents.

Paul shoots with Canon gear which includes three 40D bodies, 10-22mm, 24-105mm, 70-200mm, 400mm and 500mm lenses.
