About Global Aviation Resource

Geoff Hibbert - Staff Photographer & Writer Geoff was born in 1968 in Leicester and has been interested in aviation ever since he was a child. Family holidays in the Machynlleth Loop area during the '70s started his affair with aviation that has continued to this day. The thrill and sometimes surprise, of aircraft flying above, below, left and right during walks in the Welsh hills meant that the affair was something he couldn't walk away from. Moving to Oadby in Leicestershire towards the end of that decade he often attended the Leicester Air Show. The airfield was only a short walk across the fields and he spent many hours hanging around, watching the various comings and goings of all types of aircraft.

Geoff started photgraphing aircraft in 1988 at the Mildenhall Air Fete with his mother's compact 35mm camera, and then moved onto a film EOS SLR in the early '90s. Geoff bought his first DSLR in 2005 and the rest, as they say, is history. He now regularly travels to the Welsh Hills and has once again started visiting RAF stations to take pictures.
Moving to his wife's hometown of Loughborough in 2002 he realised that he was only a short hop from East Midlands airport. He often visits the airport to photograph some of the many interesting cargo aircraft from around the world that drop in to collect and deliver all types of payloads.

He was also a Staff member for the UK Airshow Review website for several years and has had various photographs published in Aircraft Illustrated and other military magazine titles across Europe, more recently supplying images for the launch of the new 2010 Icelandair Cargo website.
Capturing dynamic images has always been his interest and simply taking pictures in order to see an aircraft's colour scheme or squadron badge has never been his thing. He continues to this day, providing quality, high impact images whether it be an in your face Antonov AN-124 or a Hercules topside through a Welsh Valley.
