About Global Aviation Resource

Glenn Beasley - Staff Photographer & Writer Glenn's dad was an engineer in the RAF on the mighty Vulcan bomber before he was born, so aviation was always in his blood. Having lived close to RAF Finningley in his younger years the annual Battle of Britain at Home day was his introduction to the aviation world. Having purchased a number of books by the photographer Tiang Sim-Shia depicting aviation photography he got hold of his first SLR, a Praktica BC1 in 1988. Often frustrated with the results he was delighted to join the digital age in 2003 with a Canon D60 and the dream of his own 'darkroom' through a PC was realised as he set about the task of creating top quality aviation images.

Although his first love was military aviation he has crossed the divide and enjoyed the civil scene too in the last three years. In the military domain Glenn has taken the opportunity to visit America on a number of occasions, most memorably to capture his all time favourite jet the F-14 Tomcat. He has also visited California and Arizona on his travels to date.
Glenn most enjoys the unpredictability of a visit to an RAF station, never quite knowing what he will be able to capture. He has also grown increasing fond of any ramp access he can get whilst visiting the hills of Wales whenever the opportunity allows.

Having taught himself to capture and process his images to a high standard his work has appeared in many of the leading aviation publications in the UK including Aircraft Illustrated, Air Forces Monthly, Flypast and Airliner World. Calendars and books have also used his images, as have the Daily Mail and the airline Aeromexico who used an image in a publicity campaign in 2008. He has also written pieces for websites such as Airscene UK and UK Airshow Review.
Glenn is dedicated to his hobby and will go to any lengths to get that all important shot! His equipment portfolio includes Canon EOS 1D Mark III, Canon 40D and 20D bodies and Canon 100-400 IS and 24-105 IS lenses.
