After a grey first day of shooting in Japan, at Tsuiki, thankfully the weather cleared up and looked promising for the first of two days at Nyutabaru Air Base, near the town of Shintomi and roughly 10.5 miles north of Miyazaki in the Miyazaki Prefecture.

Over the last couple of weekends both the regular Army from Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, and the Army National Guard from Buckley Air Force Base have been performing their annual ‘Bambi-Bucket’ fire-fighting training at three of the Front Range public reservoirs. Paul Filmer was there for GAR.
