This is the third of our monthly ‘Highlights’ photo series and all the images you see here were taken by our photographers in May 2019.
It’s been another busy month for the GAR team and while some of the images we captured last month are destined for inclusion in full features, most of what you see here is not.
Rob Edgcumbe had another productive month in and around Paine Field and you can see some of the troubled 737 Max jets that are currently stored there, along with the new 777X and a variety of interesting, miscellaneous traffic. Rob has also included some images from a visit to Vancouver.
Paul Dunn was in South Africa and for the first time we have images from the V&A Waterfront Heliport in Cape Town, where he spent an enjoyable couple of hours watching the tour helicopters coming and going. What a great location!
Paul also captured a great set of aviation firefighters at Sacramento McClellan Airport in California. Don’t forget to check out the gallery at the bottom for the full set.
Some of the team also covered the annual Ten Tors exercise and this will be the focus of a forthcoming feature here on GAR. Tom Gibbons was one of them……..
Just scraping in to this month, on 31st May Kev Wills was in Southsea to catch rehearsals for the arrival of POTUS on his State visit to the UK and for the D-Day 75 commemorations.
And finally, before you reach the gallery, Chris Wood caught the F-16s of the 93FS ‘Makos’ that visited RAF Lakenheath.
As ever, we hope you enjoy this month’s selection of highlights and if you have any questions about the aircraft or the places, please leave a comment below or on social media.
Look out for June’s highlights next month.
