The RAF Benevolent Fund is delighted to announce that it is the nominated charity for a new company called Revolution Runs. Revolution Runs has an incredible new physical obstacle course run event entitled \u2018The Burn\u2019 taking place in Staffordshire on 18 May 2014.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Revolution Runs is the brain-child of professional Welsh International Rugby player Adam Jones, who plays for Newport Gwent Dragons<\/a><\/strong>, and fitness expert Simon McNeilly.<\/p>\n

Talking about the company, and the event, Adam said:<\/p>\n

“Revolution Runs was created to provide demanding physical and mental challenges whilst maximising the Revolution Runs experience. Each of our events will consist of some of the toughest obstacles mother nature has to offer, for all levels of ability. This event isn’t just for the hardcore trail runners, we have designed the course so that all fitness abilities can take part. Compete as an individual or as part of a team, your objective is not only to finish the course but to beat it.”<\/p>\n

Fancy trying The Burn?<\/p><\/div>\n

\u2018The Burn\u2019 takes place in Buzzards Valley, Tamworth, Staffordshire on the 18 May 2014 and entry is \u00a335 for senior and \u00a315 for juniors.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Participants will let the flames be their guide as they are led through 10k of punishing terrain and some of nature’s toughest obstacles until they reach their final destination and the ultimate \u2018Burn\u2019. A junior course provides a mini version of the real thing and will be perfect for all budding obstacle course runners. The event will also comprise a great day out for spectators with a DJ, refreshments and bar, all on site.<\/p>\n

Adam commented further:<\/p>\n

“We are excited to join forces and support the RAF Benevolent Fund<\/a><\/strong> as our official charity for \u2018The Burn\u2019. As the public profile of the Afghanistan campaign reduces and our Forces end their combat role, it is essential that we continue to try to support Service charities. Many of those who have returned from combat and risked everything for their country will need our support for many years to come. We are therefore proud to be associated with an organisation that promises to support all past, present and future RAF personnel, and their families, whenever they need it.<\/p>\n

Revolution Runs hopes to secure 500 participants for this launch event and plans to follow this up with a second event, in South Wales, later in 2014.<\/p>\n
