Airshows >> UK: 20 Questions For....... Anna Walker - skytricks.com Anna Walker was born in Brazil and was introduced to flying by her father at just six years of age. She started gliding from the age of 13 and then took up powered flying as a tug pilot; also experimenting with hang-gliding. She started flying in the UK in 1985 and joined the famous Tiger Club at Redhill where she undertook aerobatic, display and formation training, flying with the Diamond Nine Team and participating in the Famous Grouse Moth Rally in the first aeroplane she owned, a Tiger Moth. Anna won her first aerobatic competition in 1992 in a Bücker Jungmann and she now specialises in dynamic solo aerobatic displays with over 2000 flying hours to her name in 40 different types of aircraft, including floatplanes

6/ How many years have you been displaying? Since 1991

7/ What was your first public display? With the Tiger Club, in 1991

8/ All time favourite display venue? IWM Duxford

9/ What's the best thing about being a display pilot? Keeps you on your toes

10/ And the worst? Bad weather

11/ Favourite part of your display? Afterwards, if it goes according to plan

12/ If you could improve one thing about the UK airshow circuit what would it be? Fight the ever increasing red tape

13/ Other than yourself (obviously), who's your favourite current display pilot? Pete Kynsey

14/ Which other act / team would you always stop and watch? Harrier and Chinook

15/ Is there a team / aircraft you've never seen displaying which you always wished you had? Blue Angels, US Navy display team

16/ If you could choose anything from any era, which aircraft would you most love to get your hands on? Mosquito

17/ Who inspired you to begin display flying? My father

18/ Which airshow has the best grub? Goodwood Revival

19/ Where's the best after show party? Flying Legends

20/ What one piece advice would you give to anyone who wanted to get in to display flying? Do it as professionally as possible and remember you are always displaying the aircraft, not yourself.
